PRP Q & A

What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-rich plasma or PRP is a form of regenerative medicine made from your blood. It contains a high concentration of platelets that repair and regenerate at the cellular level.

Platelets are a component in your blood that contains special growth factors that promote cellular regeneration and repair.

When you come in for PRP treatments at Evolve Aesthetics, the team first draws a sample of blood. Then, they place your blood in a special centrifuge, which separates the tiny platelets from the other components to create your PRP serum.

The team uses the PRP serum for facial treatments, hair restoration, and to replenish lost volume under the eyes.

What is a PRP facial treatment?

The PRP facial treatment at Evolve Aesthetics is called the Eclipse® PRP facial. The cosmetic treatment combines microneedling with PRP to rejuvenate your look.

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that uses a special tool that perforates the surface layer of your skin. The perforations simulate an injury and trigger your skin’s natural healing elements, which increases the production of collagen and elastin.

Collagen and elastin are structural proteins in the dermal layer of your skin. These proteins are responsible for your skin’s youthful strength and elasticity. Production of these proteins decreases as you get older and contributes to the visible signs of aging.

When infused into your skin with the microneedling device, PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production, which leads to improvements in your skin texture, tone, fine lines, wrinkles, and elasticity.

How does PRP treat hair loss?

In addition to facial rejuvenation, the team at Evolve Aesthetics also uses PRP to treat hair loss. The regenerative powers of PRP stimulate hair growth by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle.

After preparing the PRP serum, your provider at Evolve Aesthetics injects the healing properties directly into your scalp with a small needle. To achieve the best results, you may need a series of treatments.

You should start to notice improvements in the thickness and fullness of your hair within 3-6 months after starting treatment.

PRP can rejuvenate your look and improve the thickness of your hair. To learn more about the regenerative powers of PRP, call Evolve Aesthetics, or request an appointment online today.
